Forget first class and business class, welcome to Suite Class, courtesy Singapore Airlines. First things first, I can’t afford it and in all probability, neither can you, unless you have an insane number of frequent flier miles or go by the name Leonardo DiCaprio! It is, after all, the most luxurious class of commercial flying available. (Tickets start at $23,000)

On Ground

You have a separate luxury check-in lounge, that’s called ‘The Private Room’, which is obviously higher than first class. And to make sure you feel it is, you will be walked past the first class passengers so you can look down upon them, be escorted by at least 1000 different people and be privy to miles of secret passageways.  A bellhop will appear to carry your luggage, which by the way, has no weight limit.

Everyone will know your name in The Private Room. At this point, whether you’re hungry or not, you must eat and drink. Options include Baked Boston Lobster with Gruyere, Emmenthal and Cheddar, U.S. Prime Beef Burger with Foie Gras, Rocket Leaf and Fried Quail Egg, Chicken and Mutton Satay plate and the likes. Champagne flows freely too.

On Board

You have a separate jet bridge to take you on board, where you will be warmly greeted with Dom Pérignon or another beverage of your choice. All suites are never fully booked, so you can feel free to picking a dining room and living room besides a bedroom.

Amenities

-          Bose headphones

-          Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kit full sized cologne

-          Givenchy blankets, pillows, slippers, pyjamas

-          An awesome in-flight entertainment system

The Dining Experience

-          A coffee selection including the Jamaican Blue Mountain, one of the most expensive and sought after coffees in the world

-          A tea selection including TWG’s Paris-Singapore tea in hand-sewn cotton teabags

-          Caviar, lobster, foie gras, the works-you can pre order any meal of your choice with the Singapore Airlines’ Book the Cook service

-          The drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are aplenty

Sleep like a Baby

On a plush mattress atop full size double bed no less. When adjoining suites are empty, they can be combined to make a double bed, not that we’re complaining about the single bed either.

There’s a lavish bathroom with a seat that we suspect is more comfortable than most economy class seats.

The attendants check on you almost every 3 minutes without being intrusive or annoying, just a quick glance as they quickly walk past. This kind if luxury is quite difficult to find on ground level, at 36,000 feet, it’s just magic!
