Hollywood is most popular in the area of making millions off of the birth of a celebrity baby. But George Alexander Louis is not just celebrity, he enjoys royal status. And it’s not his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but rather the British Tourism Ministry that’s cashing in on this royal birth.

The latest poster, is the now famous picture of the beaming royal couple, newborn Prince in hand, on the hospital steps and reads “Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby boy.” This poster will be used to target 21 countries including parts of Europe, the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, China, Japan and Russia.

VisitBritain is capitalizing on the global fervor surrounding the Prince’s birth to boost their tourism records. International interest in the British royal family remains strong, with a large part of the £4.6bn made in tourist revenue from cultural and heritage sites each year attributed to royal attractions.Britain’s baby boutiques and the London toy store Hamley’s are also tempting tourists wanting to celebrate the birth.

“With the birth of the Prince of Cambridge, we’re looking to highlight Britain globally as the ideal family destination, with plenty to do whatever your generation. We are also seeing great demand for memorabilia like key rings, tea towels and china. VisitBritain has its own Royal Baby Collection.

Sites around Britain with royal links, including Anmer Hall, a few miles from the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, which will be William and Kate’s new country retreat, are all estimated to see an increase in interest from overseas visitors. Eton, where William went to school, and St Andrews university, where the couple met, are also in the lineup.

Drayton Manor, the UK’s best family theme park is offering £5 entry on August 2 to all visitors under the age of 11 and named George.

One in every eight cultural and heritage sites visited by tourists are associated with the monarchy. A recent poll of 25,000 people for Visit Britain revealed that royal locations, castles and stately homes, were among the top three activities foreign tourists said they would most like to visit.
