Get Up n Dance! Virgin America’s In-flight Safety Video is the Hottest

“Please fasten your seat belts and switch off your mobile phones.”

What do you usually do when the air hostess is carrying out this boring safety instructions drill before the flight?

You fancy the air hostess doing a Beyonce as she toys with the seat belt? You try to spot a hot-looking dude or dudette and wonder if they would bump into you on their way to the restroom?

Your dream has come true. Your fantasy will literally be played out now. No, the air hostess won’t dance for you. The dull safety instructions drill has been replaced by something so hot it would make you dance on your flight.

Virgin America has launched an awesome in-flight safety video that would send everyone grooving. Watch this:

Directed by John M. Chu of G.I. Joe: Retaliation fame, and featuring dancers and musicians from American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, the video is absolute kickass.

The move is not entirely new to the airline industry, we must admit. The recent trend has been to spice up the dull pre-flight safety instructions. Delta Airlines recently released a holiday-themed safety video. Even Virgin had released an animated hand-drawn video back in 2007. But this time they sure outdid themselves. Jesse McMillin, Creative Director at Virgin America, said:

“We knew how much our guests loved the fun and irreverence of our current video, but after six years we wanted to give them something unexpected – a fresh take on what a safety video could be and even a chance to be a part of it, literally.”

Shake it baby!

Richard Branson has done it again. How does he manage to be so cool every time? I think they should coin a new term “Bransonesque”.

P.S. - If your feet don’t start tapping automatically after watching the video, or you don’t feel inclined to do that weird shake of the head you think you look so cool doing, then you should really worry. Maybe it’s depression.
