Acclaimed as one of the seven new wonders of the world, this particular migration has been photographed and filmed endlessly, but nothing comes close to experiencing it. To watch around 1.5 million wildebeest (indigenous to the ‘Dark continent’), with supporting roles from some 350,000 Thomson’s gazelle, 200,000 zebra and 12,000 eland in their endless search for food and water, as they circle the Serengeti- Mara ecosystem. As the newest member of the Virgin Limited Edition collection, Mahali Mzuri (meaning ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili) is a tented safari camp in the northern region of Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara ecosystem; scheduled to open this summer.

The camp is perfectly positioned for unparalleled views the Great Migration and features 12 futuristic  tents  in different sizes (some especially fitted for families), all with access to an infinity pool. Dining options are in true virgin style, from bush BBQs to champagne picnics with only the freshest locally-sourced produce.

Virgin Limited Edition maintain that their Mahali Mzuri journey started over four years ago with a small team on the ground stressing on the development of local communities. Sir Branson was even made a tribal Maasai elder, entitling him to four wives and four cows. Cultural trips to meet the local community are available, along with twice-daily safari drives, baloon trips, and on-foot treks through the wild. The camp will remain open throughout the year.
