Love is in the Air! An In-flight App That Lets You Flirt with Your Fellow Passenger

Travelling by yourself on a plane can be a really boring task, when all you can do is sleep, eat, read or sometimes watch a movie. What if you can do a
little social networking while your cellphone is on the airplane mode? Initiate some chit-chat with your fellow airline passengers?

So I hear you are a model?

Yes you read it right. A new app for airline passengers will soon be launched that will bring flyers together whilst on board an aircraft.

Named after the friend who helps you to get dates in bars and restaurants, the Wingman app is a service that will let you meet fellow passengers on your flight while you are still in the air.

How will it work?

You can create your profile, upload an image, submit personal data and input information on the airline and flight number. If there are any other Wingman users on that same flight, a list will be returned. From that list, you can pick out those with whom you want to initiate conversation. *Chuckle*

The developers are collecting email addresses on Wingman’s website for beta testers. Enter yours to be among the privileged few who get to try the app before it launches.

Highlights of the Wingman App:

  • It is the masterpiece of Gabe Whaley, a 24-year-old New Yorker.
  • It is an Apple product.
  • It will be released in April 2014.
  • It is a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi supported service.
  • It will be based on the user profile.

So get ready to check in, to get checked out!

Happy flying!
