London rates are falling down, falling down…

The London Olympics have come to an end, and it’s not just the audience who’d have liked it to continue for a few more days.  As the games came to an end, hotel rates all over London have plummeted, with several hotels now operating at 60 percent of the costs that they were charging in the last couple of weeks.

As travelers bid goodbye to London, most hotels are now coming up with revised rates to fill empty rooms. For instance, Regent’s Park Hotel, a four star property just walking distance from the Madam Tussaud’s and Sherlock Holmes Museum is now offering rooms for $233 per night (including breakfast and dinner) , slashing by 55% the rates it was charging last week. The gorgeous Millenium Bailey’s hotel, set within an 18th century Victorian mansion, too is offering a 60% discount and is now charging only $130 for the night.

It’s not just hotels though. Whether it is a cruise on the river Thames or a gourmet dinner in some of the classier five star hotels,  for those looking for an economical holiday, this is probably the best time to visit London.
