Tourist and Family Visit Visa (L-Visa) is required for foreign citizens visiting China for tourism, family visit or other personal affairs.
To apply, you should have a passport valid for at least 6 months before it expires from the date of application and sufficient blank visa pages.
Tourists planning to visit Tibet need to provide visa notification issued by the Tourism Administration of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Foreigners applying for special tour to China need to provide visa notification issued by China National Tourism Administration or the tourism administration of the related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government. Special tour includes: self-driving, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, hot air balloon, or other expeditions.
Typical processing time for the visa is 4 working days.
Urgent visa can be processed by the next working day (for applications submitted before 11:00 AM). Additional fees apply for urgent issuance.
