Malaysia Tour & Travel Guide - Places to See in Malaysia

Malaysia is famous for its lush rainforests, splendid islands and dive sites and national parks. Besides these natural wonders, other places ranking high in the popularity chart are Genting Islands, the twin towers and the Golden Triangle.

Bako National Park

A haven for wildlife, Bako National Park is a hot-spot among Malaysian tourists. The park consists of rainforest and kerangas - sandstone habitats that provide geological back-up to the plateau. An hour-long walk to the headquarters of the park and you'll already have seen four distinct species of the pitcher plant. It?s a nice place to see the Proboscis monkey (long- nosed) as well as Macaque monkeys. You will find them near the beach area during the evening time. Don?t try to cover Bako along with other destinations on the same day; it would be a nice idea to spend some time here.

Batu Caves

?Officially? coming into existence some 120 years back, the caves are said to have been discovered by the American naturalist William Hornaday. These limestone caves are a dedication to Muruga Lord Subramaniam, whose 140-feet high golden statue has recently been installed here. Batu caves are a must-visit especially during Thaipusam - the annual Hindu festival.

Petronas Twin Tower

Looming high with 88 stories above ground level, Petronas is the World?s largest twin structure. The feather in KL's crown, the towers are located in the heart of the capital. The building features spacious complex of office buildings, conference chambers, a park and a classic shopping mall. Petronas is also a chic location for shooting films.

Cherating Beach

Enjoy the soothing sea breeze amidst white sand beaches at this internationally acclaimed surfing spot. One can enjoy extreme surfing activities like jet-ski along with fine dining and lively nightlife. You can also sign-up for the exciting river cruise that will take you through the coasts, touching upon the nearby forest areaas.

Sipadan Island, Sabah

Voted as one of the most popular diving sites, Sipadan is enclosed within the boundaries of crystal clear waters and features greenback, whale sharks, mantas, hawksbill, etc. to make your diving experience all the more fun-filled and exciting.

Kota Kinabalu National Park & Mount Kinabalu

Malaysia?s 1st World Heritage, Kota Kinabalu National Park has been recognized by UNESCO for its ?outstanding universal values? in the year 2000. The park is sprawled over an area of 754 square Kms and is bounded by Mount Kota Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in Malaysia. Kinabalu is very popular among trekkers and the ?largest single flower in the World? Rafflesia, is also found in the Kinabalu National Park.

Canada Hill

A famous exercise spot, Canada Hill is the place where Malaysia?s first oil well, the Grand Old lady was installed. One can also view some interesting exhibits inside the new petroleum Museum located on the hill.

Genting Highlands

Genting - The City of Entertainment offers ample leisure and entertainment options. Genting features more than 50 rides, 120 outlets (dining and shopping) and 6 themed boulevards inside First World Plaza. Casino de Genting is an internationally acclaimed gaming zone that features multipurpose venues.

The Golden Triangle

It is one of the most happening places in Malaysia. Come here for shopping, sight-seeing, fine dining, or clubbing- you can?t get enough of this place.
