Tian Tan Buddha

The giant Tian Tan Buddha is an iconic sight at Hong Kong, sitting tall atop Ngong Pink plateau amidst the lush scenery of Lantau Island. The statue is 23m high, weighs 202 tonnes and is made of bronze. The grand figure is seated outdoors atop a podium, with a hand raised in blessing. The beautiful Po Lin Monastery lies below.

Victoria Peak

One of the most popular attractions of Hong Kong, the Peak offers some fantastic views of the city around. The Peak Tower not only provides an observation deck but also has shops, museums and restaurants. The sweeping city skyline, the Victoria harbour and rolling green hillsides provide an idyllic view that even the kids will love. To get there, experience an unforgettable ride in the Peak Tram.

Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple

The locals frequent this beautiful temple to pray or to get their fortunes read using bamboos sticks. With colourful pillars, flowers and incense on the inside, the outside of the temple is a beautiful garden, with pavilions, bridges and waterfalls.

Hong Kong Museum of Art

For art lovers, this museum houses a fantastic collection of fine art, contemporary art and Chinese antiques. Spread across seven galleries, the range here includes over 15,000 historical pictures, paintings and calligraphy pieces.

Hong Kong Park

To get away from the urban cityscape, head to the lush green Hong Kong Park, a pleasant change from the blinding city lights and skyscrapers. The park houses an aviary with over 150 species of birds in a rainforest-like environment. There's a greenhouse, fountains, lily ponds, playgrounds and restaurants. The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre is houses here as well. The kids can run around and play while you enjoy a leisurely stroll.

Avenue of Stars

Icons of Hong Kong cinema are celebrated on this seaside promenade at Hong Kong's version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Plaques, handprints, kiosks of movie memorabilia, a film-award statuette and a life size statue of the legendary Bruce Lee, all make the Avenue a fun an interesting visit. There's also a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour and the famous city skyline.
