Maharashtra Overview

Pune is the second largest city of Maharashtra with Shaniwarwada, Aga Khan Palace, Saras Baug, Khadakwasla Dam, Parvati Temple and Sinhgad being the most visited tourist spots. Hill stations such as Lonavala, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar and Matheran are, however, important for very different reasons. These towns were established in the cool heights of the Sahayadri hills during the British rule in India, and ever since then, they have been much sought after summer getaways.
