Lombok is an Indonesian island in the West Nusa Tenggara province. It's capital and largest city is Mataram. Lombok is roughly the same size as Bali and the culture too is quite similar. Internationally, a lot of tourists use Lombok as a pit-stop for traveling from Bali to the Gili Islands - a lovely set of three islands that have some great beaches, seas and make for some first class diving experiences.
