Air

Don Mueang and Suvarnbhumi are the two major airports of Bangkok. Most domestic and international flights generally arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Though Thai Airlines is the national carrier there are a lot of other International Airlines that can take you to Bangkok. One can always take buses, taxis, or mini buses that connect the airports with the central Bangkok.

Rail

The trains for various up country destinations like Ayuthaya, Kanchanaburi, Pattaya, are available at HuaLamphong Railway Station, Pathum Wan district. Bangkok Noi railway station (known asThonburi Railway Station) connects Bangkok to the nearby destinations.

Road

Apart from local bus connectivity, there are long distance buses that connectyou to different destinations within and outside Bangkok. These buses services are available to Cambodia (Phnom Penh), Malaysia (Butterworth), etc.For traveling to places in southwest or the west, one should prefer the Southern Bus Terminal situated in the Thonburi area. For destinations like Pattaya, Kochang, etc. that are located in southeast Bangkok one should prefer the Eastern Bus Terminal - at Ekkamai. Similarly, the Northern bus terminal at Mo Chit connects Bangkok to the northeast and the north. Buses are one of the most cost effective ways of getting around Bangkok. The city buses in Bangkok are operated by BMTA which is also known as the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority. There are various privately operated buses as well.
