Haryana Overview

Haryana is a prominent north Indian state sharing its neighborhood with Punjab. Its biggest USP lies in its natural abundance. Its stunning milieu has a healthy mix of arid forests and some wet greenery. The state also makes heads turn with its impressive wealth of old monuments and heritage temples. If you are a religious person, then you must visit Haryana to see its temples. Interestingly, Haryana was born out of Punjab in the latter half of the 20th century. So, in certain respects, it is quite similar to Punjab. Despite the visible similarity, Haryana has gone on to create an individual identity for itself. A large number of corporates have set up office in Gurgaon (especially due to its geographical closeness to New Delhi) and the city is now full of swanky offices, malls and residential townships. The best places to see in Haryana are Karna Lake, Badkhal Lake, Yadavindra Gardens and Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary. Each very well-preserved, quiet and pretty.
