All the resorts have their own private restaurant, so if you are in any of the islands besides Male, you shall have to stick to these. Male has a few small restaurants but even these are quite expensive.

Aioli, Male

With tastefully decorated interiors and a great ambience, the Aioli is definitely one of the best restaurants in Male. They have a spacious outdoor balcony where also food is served. The menu is varied, the food scrumptious and don' even get us started about the chilli prawn.

Symphony, Male

One of the best vegetarian outlets in town, the Symphony is a local favourite. The Indian cuisine is also highly recommended.

Sea House, Male

Strategically situated above the Hulhumale ferry terminal, Sea House offers you fantastic harbor views and constant breeze keeps you pleasantly invigorated. It serves some great food and arguably the best coffee in Male. 24 hours service.

Ithaa, Rangali Island

Have you ever had a meal while thousand of animals were staring at you? Oh, and have you ever had a meal while you were under water? And that is why Ithaa is arguably Maldives' and certainly Rangali Island's most celebrated restaurant. In a reversal of situations, a dinner here, some ten feet under water has you feeling as if you were inside a huge human aquarium with all the fish staring at you from outside. So surreal is the feeling, that most people do not bother about how the good the food finally turns out to be. At night, even sharks, manta rays and eels stand at the other end of the glass to inspect the visitors and it is a sight that really cannot be described in words. The food is expensive, but do visit Ithaa if you want to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Cafes in Male

Royal Garden Cafe and Seagull Cafe are also warm, comfy places with pleasant ambience and some nice tasty snacks. Cafe Seagull serves the best ice cream in town.
