To experience a pace of life much slower than the one you know, Dhanaulti is the place to head to. It's a town near Mussoorie in Uttarakhand and so has much of the same beauty as that place, but thankfully none of its crowd. What you'll find here are forests of oak and deodar and salubrious air. The only popular attraction here are the two eco parks, Amber and Dhara, developed by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand. These are just the places to do some bird spotting. The bird trail is provided with signs carrying pictures of birds that frequent the area, making is easy for beginners to identify the birds. But the parks are worth a visit even if you're not a birding enthusiast, they are nice and green and offer great views of the nearby hills.
As Dhanaulti lies in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, Garhwali is the local language. However, Hindi is understood by everyone here.
