Bhimtal lies very close to Nainital, but it is not half as touristy as the latter. The main attraction of Bhimtal is the lake, which is even larger than Nainital's Lake Naini. There is a small island in the centre of the lake too, and you can see a number of boats out in the lake at any time of the day. Lying at the foothills of the Himalayas, the state of Uttarakhand is best known for its wooded forests and trails, streams and lakes, and grand mountain views. Bhimtal, has all of that and more.
