The popular hill station of Patnitop is located in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A pretty town, it was originally known as Patan Da Talab (Pond of the Princess) and over the years the name became distorted to Patnitop. Located close to the Pir Panjal range, Patnitop is covered thickly with deodar forests and thus offers beautiful walking trails and picnic spots. Recently, the hill station has become popular for adventure activities such as skiing and paragliding and a number of tourists flock to the town for the same.
