Rainy days…oh! Beautiful rainy days! Not so beautiful if you’ve decided to wear your new white kurta or your suede pumps, but mostly they do end up being beautiful days. Inspired by the amazing weather we’ve had over the last couple of days, here’s a compilation of our favourite things to do on a rainy day.

1. Get Wet

Getting wet in the rain is like nothing else. Sometimes, you really don’t have a choice, but sometimes you just want to. Going up to the terrace with a loved one or jumping in puddles with the neighbourhood kids or rolling on wet grass with your mutt or standing under a tree after the rain and shaking off the residual water on each other. There are endless ways to do it, the idea is to get wet! And don’t forget to do the jiggy wiggy Bollywood ishtyle.

2. Hot Hot Chai & Spicy Munchies (preferably fried)

This one works no matter what, whether you’re at home or outside. A steaming hot cuppa masala chai and some spicy fried bhajiyas or pakodas…YUMM! And if you’re drenched, that feel of the chai entering your system just gets magnified. This one is better at the friendly neighbourhood chaiwallah rather than at home. Or maybe if you have a fancy chef at home who will make fancy snacks, no, even then I would suggest the local vendor for that perfect rainy day experience.

3. Curl up and finish that Book

Your favourite chair, on the balcony, maybe a nice warm blanket if it’s chilly and a good book; these are the essentials. The pitter-patter of the raindrops, the light breeze, you might not even need a book, just some good company or even just good music to enjoy the moment. And a mug of rich hot chocolate is always welcome. Or you could just stay indoors and watch a movie, but you’d be doing it at the risk of being called the most boring person ever!

4. Go for nice long Ride/Drive

Obviously not if you’re gonna get stuck in traffic for a couple of hours or if it’s raining too hard. But if you happen to have access to a nice long road with great views, then go for it. This one is best enjoyed with your favourite music and your favourite person!

5. The after rain Stroll

Have you ever noticed how the flowers are brighter, the leaves are greener and the air just smells so much better after a good bout of rainfall? The best way to enjoy nature’s little gifts is to go for a relaxed, long stroll after the rain has died down; to your local park or just around your colony. Sometimes, that’s all you need to know that life is indeed beautiful!

Of course everyone has their own favourite things to do on a rainy day. What would you rather do on a rainy day? Shoot off in the comments section!
