Weird is the word, or no they are outlandish, no wait, for sure they are hilariously crazy! It’s hard to believe how visitors flock to see these erratically laid out parks with the most bizarre of themes. Some of them might really interest, rather thrill you, since the old love of humans for the offbeat and unconventional. Here are eight such theme parks that dared to break the conventions and were successful in entertaining people differently.

1. Jeju Loveland

South Korea

This has got to be on the top of our list! All 140 sculptures in this outdoor park seem to be boldly exhibiting erotica, but not in a single way can they be translated as obscene, for this is where love and the love for art meet. The sexually explicit exhibits were sculpted as an ice-breaking initiative to educate hesitant couples visiting the small island on their honeymoon. Really, ice-breaking like that?!!

2. BonBon Land

Denmark

The wacky architecture here, would either have the light hearted you in splits or you might want to leave it, all disgusted. Park’s theme is inspired by the idea that everything has an ugly side to it as well. Everywhere you will find pooping birds, farting dogs, peeing ants, barfing, dizzy, puking creatures and what not. Everyone and everything would have something peculiar about itself.

3. Ferrari Theme Park

Abu Dhabi

All Ferrari lovers aboard. The largest indoor theme park packs all the speed of a Ferrari in its various rides and attractions that are meant to thrill everyone including kids. Even if you are a die-hard Ferrari fan, an overdose of anything would absolutely kill the fun.

4. World Joyland - Warcraft Themed park

China

Amusement parks like this one happen when a video game is brought to life. Game series, World of Warcraft and Starcraft are the inspiration for the park’s architecture and rides. The fun part being that this park is not officially licensed and they refrain from any official endorsements, still managing to attract hordes of crowds.

5. Suoi Tien Cultural Amusement Park

Vietnam

Although the park is based on the theme of Buddhism and other Vietnam’s cultural legends, the architecture sticks out playfully. Imagine a mammoth-sized, creepy human head staring at you from above while you take a dip in one of the pools, or taking a roller coaster ride inside a huge dragon!

6. Diggerland

UK and USA

Turning dreams and fantasies into realities, is what these amazingly themed parks do, otherwise who would’ve ever imagined kids or any other gentleman riding a dumping truck, digging and working their way through mud mounds with heavy machinery. Either dig deeper for the hidden treasure, race a truck or take a ride around the park.

7. Dickens World

UK

Well, we respect your love for books and classics but, you got to be a great fan of Dickens’ works to visit a park specially designed to enact the stories. If you are really interested, let us tell you there’s a place especially designed to create an atmosphere right out of Dickens’ books, with alleyways, streets from the era and characters dressed as per the storyline, for perfect simulation.

8. Dwarf Empire

China

This fantasy theme park is managed by the short people in Yunnan, who live in short mushroom-like homes in this little city. These dwarves rightly call this place as their kingdom or empire. These little people dress-up twice everyday to entertain the visitors with dance and song routines.

These really baffled us, sure they did you too! In all the excitement to talk about these weirdly themed parks, we might have missed out on a few others that deserve to be on this list. We would be happy to hear about those parks, from you. Drop your comments below.

I like to visit new places, explore, experience different cultures and share my perspective through words. Writing for food, travel and books is something that comes naturally, and is close to my heart.
